OFFICE
PHILOSOPHY:
I
believe
in
a
conservative
approach
to
dentistry
and
to preserving health
in
general.
I
was
trained
at
what
is
now
considered
the
#1
dental
school
in
the
country
(UTHSCSA
as
recognized
by
the U.S. News
and
World
Report).
We
were
taught
to use extreme care in shaping teeth: for
instance in removing decay I was taught to use
3
levels
of
decay
removal
(fast
speed
then
slow
speed
and
then
by
hand...in
order
to
lessen
heat
and
friction
sensitivity). This procedure also insures that all decay is
removed ! I
prefer
to
save
natural
tooth
structure
and
to
do
crowns
only
when
necessary. I have 27 years of experience in making
dentures (including the first titanium-gold denture made in
a private dental office), performing root canals (using the most advanced
techniques), filling teeth with natural looking artistic
composites in the precise layered
technique, finding and diagnosing problems and weak areas,
and teaching you on
how to care for your teeth and prevent further damage.
I like being on the edge of
discovery such as creating a strong new temporary material
that can easily repair broken teeth or resolve tough
challenges with moisture and reach. I
use
children's
tooth
polish
to
polish
adult
teeth
so
as
not
to wear away the enamel and scratch teeth. I know how to properly use
natural
colored
fillings,
inlays
and
onlays that will not allow decay to invade and occlusion
pressures to crack them. I attend professional meeting multiple times
each year to improve my skills and increase my knowledge of
new materials and techniques. And I enjoy the
challenges of using these skills even in adverse conditions
such as in the primative areas of Africa and Central
America..
Lasers
can
be
used
to
remove
bacteria
and
inflamed
tissue
with
minimal
invasion
and with little
or
no
pain. Digital
radiography
uses
6
times
less
radiation
than
normal x-rays and allows you the patient to see and
understand at that very moment what is wrong.
And
our
"Wand" gives me the ability to
apply
anesthetic with less discomfort pain.
The ZOOM
light allows
me
to whiten
your
teeth in less than 1 1/2 hours. I ZOOMED my own teeth
(which had been sensitive to tray whitening) and had no
sensitivity. I am now making SNAP ON TEETH for
people with discolored teeth or recessed bites. It is
a quick easy way to resolve major cosmetic issues without
grinding away any tooth structure!
